KORTNEE MCCALL-SIMMONS, CEO

The dual-corporate Chief Executive Officer is Dr. Kortnee McCall-Simmons. Kortnee has extensive experience in the music and entertainment industries, both respectively and at their intersections. Kortnee established The Lark Agency through a recording contract between Kortnee and Empire, and it has been solely owned and managed by him since September 2017.

 

As the son of two gospel singers/musicians and nephew to Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons of Run-D.M.C. and Def Jam Recordings co-founder Russell Simmons–Kortnee considers music the family business. Some of his accomplishments include:

 

  • 41+ feature films, network television, and stage credits, including vocal coaching at Showtime At The Apollo on Fox;

  • Performances with Chris Brown, Betty Wright, J. Holiday, Mya, August Alsina, and others;

  • On-Screen Performances with Giancarlo Esposito, Jaden Smith, Tyler Hoechlin, Laverne Cox, and others;

  • Songwriting and production credits with/for Soulja Boy, Jazmine Sullivan, Ryan Destiny, Eric Bellinger, and others;

  • Industry Mentorships from Tamar Davis, Maurice Starr, Troy Taylor, Usher, and Christina Aguilera.

 

His professional career extends well beyond entertainment, in any case. Kortnee has several years of experience as a Human Resource Manager, Education Advocate, and CommunityOrganizer. His love for the community stems from his immediate family’s struggles with homelessness, poverty, and drug abuse (both direct/indirect).

 

Before running The Lark Agency full time, Kortnee spent 10+ years in the Kingston and Greater Hudson Valley as an influential voice for many causes that have built him a solid reputation within the community. An avid historian of the area, Kortnee’s family, is one of the first to settle in Kingston; and serve its people in government and community.

 

As a leader, he believes that the work should be shared and held to a standard. For that reason, Kortnee directly selected and heads the management team of each brand. Kortnee is uniquely qualified to develop a trusted community-owned entertainment venue as a professional musician and long-time community member and looks forward to realizing that goal in 2022.

The Lark Agency's Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Content Optimization, is Jessieah McCall-Simmons.

 

Jessieah came aboard the team in March of 2021 as the Director of Content Optimization. Jessieah has extensive experience in the customer service industry and newly collected skills and expertise in the transportation, hospitality, landscaping, social media marketing, and healthcare industries. 

Born and raised in the heart of Albany, Jessieah endured a tumultuous childhood.

 

Since his youth, he has conjured and carried along the way a creative streak that has made him an exceptional part of our team. His dedication to creative liberation shows through his personality and hard work ethic. 

Jessieah loves to paint in his free time, focusing primarily on Pop Art, Contemporary, and Neo-Expressionism, among others. 

He also enjoys listening to music - so much so that he manages our music submission platform for Rhythm & Views on WKNY.

 

Other interests include photography and watching drama and reality tv shows.

 

Since starting his journey in 2012, through both school and work experience, Jessieah has grown in many productive and fruitful ways, realizing many milestones and achievements. 

 

Jessieah's current goal focuses on implementing social media to enhance the customer experience, both in-person and virtually, through multiple marketing efforts. 

 

He hopes that with his proficient knowledge and skill set, he can continue to build the experience he acquires and share this knowledge with other individuals in the form of customer service and social media.
